Take Me Home

Atmsopheric acoustic song with fabulous alto sax from Jon Garvey.

This probably started on the guitar as it starts with ‘chords with fingers missing’ in a hypnotic repeating sequence. But having said that, I must have written the lyric in New Zealand… so now I’m not sure. I sent it off to Jon and he delivered big time with the fabulous middle-eastern styled alto sax… I later added the synthesiser on the break.

HBD 02 Take me home

A11/7 riff (g a-b d ea) x4 shapes BUT CAPOT 3

Cold wind blew from the east today
Fairly took my breath away
Found its way between my ears
Snuggled up with my darkest fears

(Bb6 A11 (G up with holes))x2 shapes at capot 3
Take me home, take me home

Silver bark in the falling snow
Tells me sternly where to go
Icy rime at the waterline
Tells a story, gives a sign
Take me home, take me home

Dm A7 C G
Dm A7 Bb6 A11 shapes at capot 3

Ooh feel the torment of yesteryear
Ooh feel the tide slip away
Ooh crystal memories running clear
Ooh it’s the price you pay

Winter winds will you never cease
Add a crease now to my frown
Not allowing a moment’s peace
Guaranteed to bring me down
