We All Get What We Deserve
Another picked country-rock number
Do we all get what we deserve? I fear not and am with Pratchett in the view that justice is a human construct – it does not exist out there in the universe in any way!

capot 2 so in E not D 110bpm country
We all get what we deserve D
Be it happiness or pain G Em
All the good and bad we've done A
Listed and numbered one by one
Will all come round again D
We all get what we deserve
Nothing slips below his glance
All the honesty and lies
Stand as witness in the skies
Nothings ever left to chance
Old man sitting in a chair A
Speaks to friends no longer there
Knows his time is coming fast Bm
Faces the future with a grin A
Earnest faith burning within
Waits for the reckoning at last Bm
So I smile and hold his hand G
As he awaits his promised land
Wishing I believed it too A
Making sense of random luck G
Those pretensions I can't duck
If only all of it were true A
We all like to live in hope
Lets us wander on a rope
Thinking that we all are free
But no matter how try
to beat the roll of the die
There is never certainty
All to often we are caught
As the rope brings up us short
By some unexpected turn
Faith in justice is misplaced
Yet we hope for heavens grace
Or fear in hells fires we'll burn
We all get what we deserve, What a self-deluding dream
If life was a fairer race, It'd make the world a better place
Could it be as simple as it seems?
We'd all get what we deserve, If we lived knowing this was true
That we only get this shot, So make the best of what we've got
It's all we need to do Bm
Then we'd all get what we deserve A D
