04 Stranded by the Tide |
Stranded by the Tide This started as a very literal (and littoral!) piece written after a couple of days on Ngapali Beach in Myanmar... then it got all metaphorical. (Beach Life followed the next day.) To get the right feel on the recording I asked Mary Davies to play the piano part 'with expression' (ie without a click track) and then added the guitar to that. It then got sent off to Jon Garvey in Devon for the addition of his magic saxophone break... very atmospheric (I think!) (actually 3rd fret so Gm!)
