My Sweet Delight

This is a straightforward enough finger-picked folksy/bluesy number so I kept the production simple. I sent it off to Keith Sidwell in Calgary and he added a just-right lead line on his Gretsch Country Gentleman.

C Ab C C7
My sweet delight, move over here a little closer to me
F Fm C A7
Stand in the light, you’re so pretty now, I just got to see
D7 G C G+
Maybe tonight, you’ll be all I hope you will be

My sweet delight, rest your head here, close up to mine
Feels so right, …. you know it feels quite sublime
Feels like you might want to take things a little further this time (hold on C not G+ into chorus)

F Bb F C C7
I’ve been waiting, waiting for so long
F Bb F C C7
Now that I’ve found you surely nothing can go wrong
F Bb F C C7
You see me here without a care
F Bb F G G+
You’re the answer to this poor boy’s prayer

My sweet delight, why don’t you lay yourself down on the floor
It’s alright, for you know its you, only you I adore
It’s surely no slight, if I should want just a little bit more
(you know what I’m talking about)
