Maybe Tomorrow

This started with another guitar riff but developed a tune and lyrics that demanded a call and response so I called in Steve Franks to add the second vocal line. It's another whistful lyric and Steve wanted the chorus to end on a minor key, but my natural optimism won through so it usually ends on an upbeat roll into the riff. (But I put in one minor fall to appease him...)

Chorus
Em G But( capot on 5 so actually in Am )
I tell you that I’m lost
Em G Am C Am C
You tell me that I’m free F C G7
C G D7
But you don’t count the cost, count the sorrow
G twiddly bit
Maybe tomorrow

Verse so now
G Am G Am C Dm C Dm
F G Bb C Bb C Eb F
G Am G Am C Dm C Dm
F G F G Bb C Bb C

Take it from me when something’s gained something is lost
Nothing is free nothing’s gained without a cost
Why can’t you see Why can’t you see
Take it from me

I know the score what you’re saying makes no sense
I’ve been this way before move the past to present tense
Helpless and raw Helpless and raw
I know the score

Left on the side another day another slide
No room on the ride never known an easy ride
Withered and dried Withered and dried
Left on the side

Full on disgrace silver linings hard to find
No changing the place another day another grind
laugh in my face laugh in my face
Full on disgrace
