Shine
This was the last song I recorded for the archive project volume 2 - Back on the Cam. I scored a cheesy brass section for it then and said at the time it would be nice to try it with real brass. Now, thanks to Jon Garvey, I've finally got my wish!
words and music by Martin Stirrup 1974 - rerecorded 2011 -with more crazy sax from Jon garvey
17 Shine 1974 (main guitar riff played in E capot 3)
G Am G Am G Am G Am
I can’t tell you what to say you don’t need my guiding light at all
G Am G Am G Am G Am
If your fine or if you’re fey what does it matter if we fall
Am Bm C Bm Am G
We can surely find a way to make it shine
A m Em C Bm C (G Am)4
Yes we can surely find a way to make it shine
Skies are blue or skies are grey you still need the earth on which you stand
Take it slow but take it any way sometimes you’re gonna need a helping hand
(G Am)2 up to break
Bm Am Am7 Am Am7
See the light above you showering down
Bm Am Am7 Am Am7
Don’t you think you should stop your running around
Am Am7 Bm Am G Am)4
Tearing the ground until it all comes tumbling down
So try disguise or make it plain you know I’ll be here just the same
Use your eyes but don’t lose your brain I know the rules to all your games
See the light above you showering down
Don’t you think you should stop your running around
Tearing the ground until it all comes tumbling down
I can’t tell you what to say you don’t need my guiding light at all
If your fine or if you’re fey what does it matter if we fall
We can surely find a way to make it shine
Yes we can surely find a way to make it shine
Shine on me… Shine on me…
Shine on me… Shine on me…
Shine on me… Shine on me…
Shine on me… Shine on me…
