Whispering in the wind

This rather mournful number needed and appropriate instrument of wind... I considered a scored oboe but in the end called on the services of my good friend Jim from Jinan (aka Liu Haoran,  刘浩然) on the Hulusi. Of course he thought he was playing a traditional Chinese folk tune 'Bamboo under the Moon' - but it fitted surprisingly well (with a little bit of tweaking!)

Many thanks Jim!

Had a love that came to me
Brought me chains to set me free
Took it to its apogee whispering in the wind  (whistling?)
But though she said she came to stay
She took my heart and ran away
Left me with not much to say  whispering in the wind

Hey Maria, time goes by
Hey Maria, hear me sigh

Walking through an empty street
Feeling lost and incomplete
Freezing in the summer heat   whispering in the wind
Jostled on a crowded train
Unaware I still remain
Hooked on to a sad refrain    whispering in the wind
