Undying love

4 am in Bahrain and I'd moved on to gospel. This is obviously a love song in the style of gospel but interestingly enough you only have to change one word - woman to Jesus in the chorus- and you have a full-blown gospel lyric that works.

Undying love

Verse 1 (as refrain)

I’ve live a life that’s full to the bursting
I’ve seen my fortunes rise and decline… oh so many times
But the drinking I’ve done, has not been through thirsting
Easy and slow have been the ways of my mind

refrain
C
Yet too many times have I slipped from perfection
G G7
Too many times have I cried out enough
C C7 F Fm
But I took a step on the road to redemption
C G Em D#m Dm C
When I put my faith in an undying love

chorus

F C
Woman you hold me, hold me from danger
D G G7
You structure my life and fill out my soul
F C Am
You rescued my mind when you gave me your body
Dm G Em D#m Dm C
You know that this love is beyond my control

You saw through my camouflage, took me inside you
Kindled the fire from the embers within
Shook up my life till you knew I’d decide to
Stay with your love, start to begin

Refrain (backing with offset vocal)

Chorus (accentuated over backing)

Refrain slow ( finish)
