Touch and Go
It must have been getting very late (or early?) in Bahrain when I decided to have a go at that most underrated of musical genres, the novelty pop song. It's a good hook line though....

Touch and Go
A D G
I came across a lady, walking in the park
A D G
She looked the kind of lady who liked to stay out after dark
A D G
I asked if she’s like to take a stroll and pass the time
A D D# E G E
She said she’d really like to – but then she laid it on the line
Chorus: A G
You can take me to the movies and we’ll stand in the line
A G
Or you can take me out to dinner and we’ll have a good time
A G
Then you can walk me to my hotel room and that’ll be fine
F E A D G etc
But if you lay a hand on me you gotta know - It’s touch and go
Then I found another lady propping up a bar
She looked the kind of lady who might like to go quite far
I asked her if she’s like to have a drink or two
And when the drink was over perhaps there’s something we could do
She looked me up and down gave a nod then shook her head
Then she got up off the bar stool and this is what she said..
Chorus
So I really got disheartened, just trying to play the field
You’d think there would be someone, someone who would yield
Then this guy came over to me and asked me for my name
He was going to a party – would I like to do the same
G E
He seemed so very friendly as nice as you could meet
G F E G E
But this is what I told him, as I got up to my feet..
Chorus variant
Well that’s a really kindly offer that is hard to decline
So you can take me to your party now and that’ll be fine
But let me just make one thing clear so you don’t get the wrong sign
If you lay a hand on me you gotta know – it’s touch and go
