only for me Early 1970

(70s overdubbed analogue recording)

the blurb from 'the album that never was'

Early summer at Cambridge; lazy days (pre or post exams?) with Sheila coming up by train every other week. At the club the instrumental break was filled by Ralph Simpson’s flute. In the version – a mid 70s attempt at analogue overdub recording on Roger Brawn’s big two headed reel to reel tape recorder – it features Roger’s tasty lead guitar (and me pumping away on my fold-up harmonium).

The trees of green and light reflecting
Shine on and I’m expecting you to come through
I see your form among the faces
In several different places but where are you
How time flows slowly in the sunlight
The empty sky is like a pool
My eyes of envy follow birds flight
I’m thinking that she’s never late as a rule
